Falling in love with Mother Earth: Retreat with Julia Ramanoelina
12-14 May 2023
Mindfulness retreat in nature
with Julia Ramanoelina
at Pardesa practice center, Italy
Every day that we get to live on the Earth brings a sacred mission to be in love with her. This great mother wants each of us, her countless children of all species, to receive her boundless love. She in turn knows how to be nourished and healed by our unique expressions of love towards her, by our breathing with presence, our walking in tranquility, our embracing of pain, our actions of solidarity.
Julia Ramanoelina
In this retreat we’ll make space and time to fall in love again with Mother Earth. The atmosphere of mindfulness will support us in opening up to the wonders of the Earth, her beauty and the deep wisdom that she offers every moment. Guided by the experience and freshness of our visiting teacher, we’ll share sitting and walking meditation outdoors, Dharma talks, mindful eating, sharing circles and time in nature.
Our retreat will take place at Pardesa, practice center for meditation and applied ecology, where we can allow ourselves to slow down and to be nurtured by mother nature and by the silence we co-create with her. The “Contrafforte Pliocenico” nature reserve, where Pardesa is located, is an ideal location for our experience.
No specific skills or experience are required. Retreatants are expected to participate fully in the community life of the practice center. This includes arriving on time for activities and respecting the practices of silence, meditation and sharing. All these elements enrich and are an integral part of our retreat experience.
Julia Ramanoelina
Julia Ramanoelina is a Dharma teacher from the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and the international mindfulness practice center Plum Village. She lived as a nun in Plum Village for 12 years and has traveled throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia to help lead retreats and meditation activities for adults, teenagers and children. She is currently active in Montagne du Dharma practice center, located in the national park of the Cévennes in France. Julia cares deeply and concretely about nature and about people; and she focuses her attention each day to embody the spiritual name she received from Thich Nhat Hanh in 2008: true harmony.
