A hamlet in nature

In the last five years Pardesa has become a point of reference and a refuge for those looking for a place to practice mindfulness, to connect with nature and to deepen their understanding of the connection between ourselves and the Earth.

Your contribution will help this practice center, and the spirit that motivates it, realize its potential. Following our aspiration to welcome and include ever more people and with more comfort, we’ve created a number of projects related to Pardesa’s capacity for hospitality.

Greywater filtration pond

Soon we’ll be constructing a greywater filtration pond to turn “waste” water from our residence into irrigation for our trees and garden. Not only will the construction of the pond be a beautiful occasion for a mindful community worksite, we’re creating relationships with water the lilies, irises and other aquatic plants, together with the dragonflies and other species that will come to co-inhabit this space together with us. This is a volunteer project, while the cost for the excavation and materials is €10.000.

Indoor meditation hall and laboratory

Zendo and workshop

We’re transforming an old barn into a proper meditation hall with a view of the splendid valley, with the lower floor hosting an atelier dedicated to transforming and processing our the fruits of our permaculture garden and food forest. With external insulation, improvements to the roof, the addition of a window and more, the new, indoor meditation hall will also allow us to host more participants during the cold season and in the case of rain.

The building itself, however, requires structural reinforcement and a fix to the roof, and we’d like to add windowing with a view of the valley in our meditation hall. The cost for these works is €50.000 – thank you for your contribution to everyone who comes to Pardesa to practice.

Building the Eco House

Eco House

Built according to a green design and demonstrating intelligent use of natural resources, as well as a greywater pond for turning wastewater into irrigation abundance, the “Heart of Pardesa” will house our practice center’s kitchen, a bathroom/shower, multipurpose room, indoor dining room, an outdoor terrace and connected greenhouse. For this project we will need to raise €100.000 in addition to other sources of financing.

Purchasing and transforming the hamlet

Pardesa hamlet

At the moment, the hamlet where Pardesa is located is divided among a few different properties, not all of which are part of our center. Our wider vision is that the entire hamlet becomes a point of reference, where the practice of mindfulness is cultivated daily. We’re therefore looking for investors interested in purchasing the remaining structures with the intention of sustaining the values and future direction of the center.
