Celebrating the Mindfulness Trainings

Right action is the practice of touching compassion and preventing things which can harm living beings; it is the practice of non-violence towards ourselves and others. The basis of right action is to do everything in mindfulness.

The Five Mindfulness Trainings are an adaptation offered by Master Thich Nhat Hanh of the Five Precepts in the Buddhist tradition. The trainings are not a creed or a series of commandments, but rather, they are an invitation to look at various aspects of our own life in the light of our deepest aspiration. To study them together in order to reflect and look at our actions in the world, can be very enriching. Also our presence will be a support for those who will formally receive the mindfulness trainings after participating in the the Five Mindfulness Trainings retreat during the previous days.

This day will be dedicated to the transmission and celebration of the Mindfulness Trainings and will include walking and sitting meditation outdoors, a shared lunch, the Transmission Ceremony of the Five Mindfulness Trainings and a sharing circle where we can learn from one another. We will also plant a tree in memory of Thay in the land of our practice center.

Practical information

When: Sunday, 3 November, from 9:30am to 4pm

What to bring:

• A vegan dish to share at lunch time (ready to serve)
• Your own reusable plate and cutlery
• A meditation cushion/bench (we have a few available ones on-site)
• A water bottle
• Walking shoes

Contribution: we appreciate a minimum donation of €15 to cover our teacher’s expenses and to support our practice center.

We don’t want economic considerations to be a limitation for your participation in our activities. If you are encountering difficulties, please contact us directly.

Registration

Registration is done through the online registration form and is open until 28 October. The number of places is limited.
When your registration is confirmed you’ll also receive instructions on how to make your contribution in advance, in order to make the arrival easier on the appointed day.
